Project Showcase – June 2015
We are proud to have just completed the assembly and erection of a 100m Monumental Flagpole™ in the city of Mary, Turkmenistan. Mary is a city on an oasis in the Karakum Desert, located on the Murghab River, and is the capital city of Mary Province in Turkmenistan. This is the second 100m Monumental Flagpole™ we have fabricated and assembled in Turkmenistan over the last year, with the earlier one erected in Turkmenbashi in June of 2014. Also, we were responsible for the design, fabrication and erection of the 133m Monumental Flagpole™ located in Ashgabat Turkmenistan which we completed in 2008.
We completed this most recent project in conjunction with ES Maksatly Menzil, a prominent local Turkmenistan general construction firm and a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan. Our working relationship with the team of Maksatly Menzil was superb, and directly contributed to the successful completion of this prestigious project. Maksatly Menzil started construction of the foundation of other local infrastructure in late April, while we completed fabrication of the flagpole sections in our facility in Dubai. The sections and other major components of the flagpole were transported during May from Dubai to Mary on a combination of flatracks and other containers, and arrived in Mary on 4 June. Shortly thereafter, our team of erection and assembly experts arrived onsite and began the process of putting everything together. From initial design and fabrication at our facility in Dubai to final erection in Mary, all key milestones were completed on time and to everybody’s satisfaction. The project culminated with the “Commissioning Ceremony” with key members of the Turkmenistan and Mary Province Governments in attendance on June 22nd.

All-in-all this was a very important and satisfying project for us, and we enjoyed working with our colleagues at ES Maksatly Menzil. We look forward to collaborating with them for future projects in Turkmenistan!
